We once again took Amtrak's thoroughly modern Cascade train, to Seattle,
stayed over night at a motel near the airport, and woke up at 3:00 to catch our 3:30am airport shuttle.
If looks could kill... This was the only flight of the trip.
We thought we had plenty of time to catch our 6:00 flight.
We barely made it.
| Even at 3:30 in the morning, SeaTac airport was organized confusion. | At least the flight was smooth. Thats Mt Raineer out our window. |
We flew back to Denver, and picked up our camper from the remote airport
parking lot, and headed down the road.
The mountain drive from Denver Airport to Durango was long, winding
a beautiful...
| We watched many rafters go by. | Much of our drive followed the Arkasas River. | Pinacle Rock |
| Roy did almost all the driving. | The cockpit--with DVD hooked to TV, compter, CD's, drink--all the comforts of home. | Driving down the Colorado countryside. |
| The weather was wonderful | We passed Chimney Rock | and Royal Gorge (see the train passing) |
We arrived in Durango just before dark. It was a very long drive. The bed in the Camper never felt so good.
