We (finally) caught the local trolley to the train station.  We just made our 8:15 am train	"Tickets Tickets, please.  All Abooard!!!"	This steam locomotive has been in operation since the Silver rush in the 1800's.  It averaged 13mph

We started out peacefully, in the Hermosa Valley, with lots of meadows and streams and horses.
 

We followed the Animas River all the way to Silverton.  At times the gorge reached 400 ft.   At times, our train teetered less that one foot away from the edge...
  Much of the movie Butch Cassidy and the Sundance Kid was filmed on this train.
The home on the lower left was the house where they filmed the song "Raindrops Keep Falling on my Head."
