Returning Home
Durango -Albuquerque-Amarillo

Durango is a lovely tourist town.  After our day on the train, we walked around the downtown and got ice cream to complete our July 4th celebration.

The next morning was another long drive for Roy.  We enjoyed a good road (Hwy 550) all the way to Albuquerque where we stopped to visit our niece and friend, Beverly Lammert and her husband James.  We stayed at a campsite in Amarillo on the way home.

Red mesas and cliffs of the New Mexico countryside.  We went on the backside of the Jemez Mountain which is part of the Sangra De Cristo Mt Range--which is near Los Alamos, where I went to High School.   I am sorry we didn't have time for a stop there; maybe next time...
