Coastal Starlight
enroute from Sacramento to Seattle

We awoke to the magnificent sight of Mt Shasta, and watched it all morning long as this volcano towered over forrests, meadows, lakes and farmlands.

 
 

Eventually we passed Crater Lake.  We saw volcanic cinder cones, a lumber mill, an observatory, lots of waterfowl, and two bald eagles.
