Aboard Alaskan Ferry Kennicott

Since our ferry did not leave till nearly 10:00 am, and we once again gained an hour, we had a leisurely morning in Prince Rupert.

It was wonderful seeing our lovely VIA Skeena train in the morning before it left for its next destination.  I also sighted my first Bald Eagle.

Happy Solstice Day.  We sure did enjoy a looong leisurely sunset.  We passed through the Wrangle Narrows at 10:30 at night--still twilight (see above)!

Forrest Service Interperter Dawn Bragg provided informative lectures on the local terrain and wildlife.  Ry has been studiing his marine mammals, and his knowledge impressed everyone there.  Thanks Mr. Salvesen (5th grade Science teacher at East La Vega Intermediate School).

The bald eagles were waiting for us at the dock in Juneau.  They like to call them Alaskan seagulls.  Though difficult to see in the above photo, lots of humpback whales and Dal porpoises where sighted on the voyage.  If only I was faster with my camera...
